ABOUT

Domina Cassia Longina

Roma | Miami | Thessaloniki

It all started when I carried a seemingly unimportant blue book into my 9th grade English class. That book was The Tragedy of Julius Caesar, and I was given the part of Marcus Brutus. As any high-school student, I was neither excited nor inspired until I read my first line and as soon as I did, something clicked. From then on, I have been entirely devoted to the study of the Roman world and culture.

Since then, I have moved back to my home city of Roma where I am attending university.

I am a BA/MA in Classics with Honors and a minor with Honors in Ancient Roman & Greek Philosophy. I am currently working on the beginnings of my PhD while juggling tutoring Latin, classes, and the end of my BA/MA thesis.

I am also the domina of the Collegium Philosophiae and you are more than welcome to join me for discussions!

Although my areas of specialty are the Roman Republic’s history, culture, and philosophy, I am also an artist. I have been studying art from a very early age and completed AP Studio Art with a 4.0 and served as the president of the Art Honors Society for 3 years. Even though I am not seeking a degree in art, I still practice and exercise my skills daily.

My love of art and astronomy started much earlier. The first job I wished to have – when I was no older than 3 years of age – was an astronaut and I have been studying the stars ever since.

I have a strong capability in the studio arts, which include painting, drawing, and photography (film and digital), and I have ability in most of the other studio arts, such as ceramics. I am also trained in fashion design, construction, and I love making clothes – especially Roman and Greek inspired! I paint using acrylic mostly and I work with pen, charcoal, and pencil mainly due to my habits of perfection (I like all my lines to be straight). In addition, I am a digital designer, model, writer (non-fiction and fiction), and a lover of astronomy and biology. I am a trained marine biologist with 3 years experience and an avid astronomy student of 5+ years.

In addition to my passion for philosophy, history, science, and the arts, I am also an avid chef. I always enjoy being in the kitchen. For me, it is almost as fun as painting and drawing. I am opening a restaurant, Domus Cassii, a fusion of modern and ancient Roman.

I offer my services to you at no, or little, cost.
